Ann Arbor Youth Chorale, Ann Arbor

The Ann Arbor Youth Chorale offers two graded choirs. The Descant Choir is a beginning level ‘training choir’ which prepares young singers for performance and for the more rigorous demands of the Concert Choir. Children at this level show an enthusiasm for singing and an ability to match pitch. The Concert Choir is for more experienced children who already demonstrate vocal ability, along with basic skills in note reading and singing in parts. Each choir is dedicated to fostering excellence in musicianship. At their respective levels, children learn basic concepts of melody, rhythm, harmony, and dynamics, along with skills in vocal technique, breathing, tone production, diction, and sight singing.
