Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago
Catherine Edelman opened her gallery in 1987 at the age of 25, six months after receiving her masters degree in photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. A working photographer at the time, Catherine decided to open a gallery exclusively devoted to the exhibition and sale of living photographers, which was not present in Chicago at the time.
