355 years ago, the Sisters of St. Joseph began in pre-revolutionary France. The first small community of women moved into a house among the poor. Their plan was to divide the city, serve the needs of their neighbors, and share a life of prayer and simplicity. The streets were their convent; the works of mercy, their divine office.
