Lauj Youth Society of MN, Inc., St. Paul
Lauj Youth Society of Minnesota, Inc. (LYS) was formed to help the Hmong children and youth succeed academically and grow in their ability to become self-sufficient members of American society. Parental and community members concerned about Hmong children in the 1980's initiated tutoring and support programs for children and youth. The growth of these efforts resulted in the formation of LYS as a non-profit organization in 1993. LYS has focused on working closely with public schools and parents to help Hmong children, youth and families through out Saint Paul and Minneapolis, MN. LYS is governed by a 13 member board of directors. It has 5 full-time, 15 part-time and 8 volunteer staff members.
