  • We brought our Labradoodle here for 1 month of training. Our dog was completely neglected on the edge of abuse. He was never brushed-something that we specifically said had to. Be done 3 times a week. After a month, his entire body was coated with matts. To the point where he couldn't even walk properly. The matts prevented his joints from fully bending. He had weeks of poop matts all around his rear end and even around his mouth. Our 32 pound dog lost 25% of his body weight, his breath stunk, and his commands were worse than when we dropped him off. The only things that were quickly shown to us before they specifically whisked us off the property were hot dog pieces and a choke collar. I am blown away that this business is able to be in existence.

  • I took my dogs to Maranatha Farm Kennels for the basic boot camp to learn sit/stay, come when called, and walking on a leash. I also asked the owner if they could work with my youngest (9months) on crate training - to which they said yes. When it was time to pick them up, they called us and said they were too busy for our pick up day and asked us if they could push it out a week - we could get 1 additional week of free training! When we came 5 and a half weeks later to pick up our dogs, there was no display of their new skills or much of an explanation on how to continue training. She just walked our dogs out to us, said they used hotdogs to train them and a choker collar. When I asked about the crate training her reply was that they tried at first, but my dog barked a lot while in the crate (as in they didn't work on it).The worst part is both of my dogs lost substantial weight. The 9 month old puppy was at least 10 lbs lighter than when we dropped him off and has terrible diarrhea.

  • My wife and I purchased a 7 month old black lab from Maranatha Farms in Buxton, ME for $950. We first went to their web site which looked polished and professional and noticed that they stand by the dogs that they sell, with a full health guarantee. We drove up from Southern Massachusetts to their kennels in November and looked at several dogs. When they brought out Finn (our name for him or Prasier - their name for him) Robin the manager immediately shoved a large number of hot dog chunks into my hand telling me to feed him those and he'll positively respond. I thought it strange at the time but even more so when after 20 minutes or so of being with him he started to have unbelievable diarrhea which Robin quickly dismissed and attributed to all the hot dogs we had been feeding him. He was very small and skinny, all ribs for a dog his age and bred, but he was sweet and my wife fell in love with him. We went back on December 18th, to purchase him and took him back to our home in Mass

  • Maranatha Farm Kennels in Buxton has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. It took 4 days, two emails and three phone calls to even get a response from them to board my dogs. They never answer the phone in their facility. I wonder what would happen if I have an emergency and needed to get in touch with them??! Then I made an appointment to go over and look at the facility to see where my dogs would be cared for and the woman behind the desk was frazzled and rushed. I waited for about 20 minutes and when she came out she said she had no time right now, even though I made and appointment. She then proceeded to tell me that "no, I was not allowed to see where the dogs were kept". WHAT???? Why in the world would I place the care of my dogs in a place where I was not allowed to see. She said I could look at pictures on the website. Well, that is useless. They could be from another facility or 10 years old.
