Marine Animal Rescue Society, Miami
MARS is a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a Letter of Agreement from the National Marine Fisheries Services to rescue, rehabilitate and release stranded marine mammals. We are based out of Miami, FL with trained personnel located in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.We were founded in 1996 and have worked jointly with Florida International University and other stranding network participants in the rescue and release of injured marine mammals. Every animal that we come across provides us with a unique opportunity to learn about these wonderful animals. With all interactions, we absorb and document as much data as possible to disseminate to the university and south Florida community.
