The new Wal-Mart Super Store in Sturgeon Bay, WI is first of all hampered by very poor parking planning. The lots are crowded, too small, traffic patterns are unsafe. And as long as we are still in the parking lot, cart corrals are too few and far between. The store is well lighted. And that is about the only good thing I have to say. The layout is poor and not intuitive so that things you would expect to find together are actually VERY far apart, e.g., office supplies and books, cereals and milk in foods etc. A row of bicycles nearly fills one aisle so that two carts cannot pass without one of them crashing into the bikes. For all the additional floor space, there is no change in variety of products (only thing new, really, is the grocery section and subway shop) nor in the quality of products. You have cut your book and magazine selections to almost nothing. Damn! What used to feel somewhat like a pleasant store with familiar people is now a monster.
